Roseto is a town in Pennsylvania which, back in the 1960s, stunned the scientific community. This rural town had a “heart attack mortality rate half the rate of every surrounding community” (Positano, 2008). What caused Roseto to have such a stunning statistic? The answer is much closer to home than we realise...

This animated piece was created to combine infographics with a narrative, to convey the warmth of the story but also convey the sense that it was built off science. I directed all the motion graphics in the film “The Connection” to try and balance these needs. Graham Schneider contributed animated assets and asset art direction.
